- Release of Data Management Plan Tool v.2: the new version allows save, retrieve, and edit of previous Data Management Plans, and allows linking data management plans to award numbers
- New Data Access and Data Contribution web pages structured according to IEDA data types

- Check out the updated MGDS Search Interface
- The MGDS Data Submission form now accepts PDF files.
- GeoMapApp 3.3.0 features an updated PetDB Portal with samples through March 2012, and the reactivation of the focal mechanism solutions portal.
- Please preview the new PetDB website and provide comments and suggestions to info@petdb.org
- New datasets in the Geochemical Resource Library include the PetDB Expert MORB Compilation by Conny Class and Kerstin Lehnert.
- A workshop featuring EarthChem and GeoMapApp was held at the Goldschmidt Meeting in Montreal in June 2012.
- IEDA hosted a Special Seminar on Data Publication, featuring presentations by Elsevier, Thomson Reuters, Wiley-Blackwell, and AGU publications.
- SESAR (System for Earth Sample Registration) held a workshop on the International Geo Sample Number IGSN at the 34th International Geological Congress in Brisbane, Australia.
